The Man in the Basement

Simon and Helen live in Paris together, they decide to sell a basement in their building. The man who buys it has a troubled past and the couple’s life is turning upside down.
WHY WE LIKE THIS FILM: Based on a true story, this superb drama set in modern times asks “what would you do?” if a racist moved into your basement and you couldn’t get rid of him? A timely film connecting with issues being faced by many across the world. Event includes an AJFF recorded Q&A with director Philippe Le Guay.
